If you're having trouble logging in to your AlphaESS app, it could be due to an upgrade that was implemented in mid-April 2026. You'll need to ensure you have the latest version of the app by going to your respective app store and checking for updates. 

This upgrade brings a redesigned app along with several new capabilities. Here's what AlphaESS is saying about the upgrade:

Redesigned App & Web Portal

The app and web portal have been redesigned with clarity and simplicity in mind. Navigation has been streamlined, key information is easier to find, and the overall experience has been built around how households actually use their energy systems day to day. Whether you are checking your solar production,reviewing your battery status, or adjusting settings, the new interface is designed to be straightforward and intuitive.

Adaptive Energy

A smarter approach to home energy. Adaptive Energy automatically adjusts to your household's energy usage patterns, optimising when your battery charges

and discharges based on your actual consumption, solar generation, and tariff structure. This release lays the foundation for further intelligent features — including an upcoming AI-driven mode — that will continue to learn and improve over time.

Site Overview

We have introduced the concept of a Site — a unified view of your entire home energy system. Rather than monitoring individual devices, you can now see everything in one place: solar production, battery status, grid interaction, and household consumption, presented as a complete energy flow.

Storm Guard

A weather-aware protection feature that monitors severe weather forecasts for your area and automatically increases your battery reserve ahead of potential grid outages. When a storm or extreme weather event is predicted, the Storm Guard ensures your household has sufficient stored energy to maintain essential power.

Renewable Energy Achievement

Track the share of your household energy supplied by solar and battery. This feature gives you clear visibility into your renewable energy usage and the environmental contribution your system is making over time.

Data Security

All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest within our Australian data centre. The migration process includes multiple verification steps to ensure complete data integrity. Your existing data remains fully intact on our systems throughout the transition — nothing is deleted during the upgrade process.
