What happens if I sell my property?

Transferring your Plico contract is easy.

When selling the property where your Plico system has been installed, you have three options to consider:

  1. Remove and relocate the system at your own cost (this can range up to $4,500 for a full solar and battery system though).
  2. Transfer the Plico contract to the new owner (they just need to sign a Contract Transfer Agreement).
  3. Buy out the Plico system and add the amount to the property price.

Contract Transfer

We can easily transfer your existing contract to any new homeowners. We will prepare a Contract Transfer Agreement which will be emailed to the new owners for signing. The following information is required to create a Contract Transfer Agreement:

-              New owner’s legal names

-              New owner’s email address

-              New owner’s mobile number

-              Settlement date.

This will then transfer the system and the relevant weekly instalments over to the new owners, and your liability will cease on the settlement date, as long as the contract is signed by both parties.

As an existing Plico member, you can talk to the new owners about the benefits of your Plico membership to aid in their decision. Our team is also available to answer any questions they may have and talk through the benefits of staying with Plico. 

We highly recommend you add the Plico contract as a condition of sale, whereby if the contract transfer agreement is not accepted by the new owner, then the buy-out price of the system will be added to the sale price of the house. 

Buy out the Plico system and increase property sale price

As the new owner will be getting all the benefits of the Plico system going forward, we would recommend that you add your contract buy-out price of the system to the sale price of the house. The relevant buy-out amount can be found in your VPPSA contract.
