A National Battery Rebate is available from 1 July 2025. The WA Government will introduce a battery rebate on 1 July 2025. Interest-free battery loans are available in WA and Victoria.
At Plico, we aim to make solar batteries affordable and accessible for everyday Australians.
We have never relied on ‘battery rebates’ or ‘battery subsidies’ to achieve this.
That said, we will take full advantage of any solar and battery rebates available, to ensure our members always get the best price and increase their solar savings.
If you have already purchased or are paying off a solar battery, it's likely that you've made significant savings.
Battery Rebates
In WA, battery rebates of up to $1300* for Synergy customers and $3800* for Horizon customers will be available from 1 July 2025. Batteries must be connected to an approved VPP and meet Australian Standards.

The Cheaper Home Batteries Program will reduce the cost of a solar battery by around 30% from 11 July 2025. Find out more about the National Battery Rebate here.
Battery loans in Victoria are closing soon. Read about battery loans currently available in Victoria here.
Solar Rebates
The Clean Energy Regulator Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme offers Small-scale Technology Certificates (commonly known as STCs). These are certificates created for each new solar installation. They vary by location, installation date, and solar PV size.
STCs apply equally to solar-only installations and solar + battery installations. They are a core component of any solar offer in the market. They are not available for battery-only purchases.
**Rebate details, eligibility criteria, and timing subject to government policy finalisation and approval. Applications for WA Government rebates and loans are not yet open and battery suppliers or installers have not been selected. Batteries installed before the commencement of the WA Battery Rebate will not be eligible.
